Lawson Park offers accommodation in a restored barn and elopements and micro weddings in the Blue Mountains

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can stay at Lawson Park?

Long Alley Barn is our accommodation and it has 2 bedrooms with one queen and one king bed. Lawson Park is an off-grid eco-friendly property, and we only accommodate 4 people at the Barn.

Can I ask additional friends to stay if they bring their own bedding?

We are unable to accommodate more than 4 people. Our systems are limited and we prefer to ensure your stay at Lawson Park is as comfortable as possible.

Can my child come and stay at the Barn with me?

Children are wonderful, our place however can be a little wild! Which means we put safety first! Let us know the age of your children and we can discuss the hazards.

Can I bring my dog to Long Alley Barn?

We are dog-friendly people, however, there are numerous safety and supervision matters to consider when bringing your dog to a place like Lawson Park. For the ambience of our guests, we do not have a fenced area around the Barn and we have wild flora and fauna that visit frequently. This can be stressful for you and your companion to provide the appropriate full-time supervision of your companion during your stay.

As we are a bush property, animals tend to love getting in amongst the dirt! For us to maintain the high standard of our accommodation, dogs are not allowed inside to roam. The climate of the Blue Mountains is also very cold at night, and a dog accompanying a guest would only be comfortable sleeping out on the covered verandah during the warmer months.

If you are going walking in the Mountains, please remember the Blue Mountains National Park does not allow dogs. We are unable to have dogs left unsupervised at the property at any time during your stay.

You are welcome to tell us about your dog and we can send you our accompanying Dog Policy.

Can I stay and have friends over for a meal at Long Alley Barn? Can I have visitors while staying at Long Alley Barn?

Just let us know your plans when you book! If it is for an organised event then we need to discuss how long and how many visitors are coming over. This is a place of celebration but hosting additional visitors becomes a different type of booking at the property and all visitors need to be nominated for approval prior to your stay at our property. Additional booking fees may apply.

Can I have a wedding ceremony and stay at Long Alley Barn?

Yes, we have packages with or without accommodation midweek. All weekend events/ceremonies include a minimum one-night stay for 2 people.

How far are you from Sydney?

We are approximately 2 hours from Sydney CBD on the M4 and Great Western Highway over the Blue Mountains. We provide you with a map when booking for directions to our property.

How far from the closest shops are you?

The closest large centres with grocery stores are Lithgow 20 minutes to our west and Blackheath 20 minutes up on the Mountains to the east. On the corner of the Great Western Highway and Browns Gap Road is Hartley Fresh. They stock fruit and vegetables, milk and Black Cockatoo bread (from Thursday to Sunday). They also have a nice selection of cooked foods and pastries.

Are you close to farmers' markets?

Blackheath Farmers' Markets is the second Sunday of every month.

Are there coffee shops nearby?

Mount Victoria Village has a couple of coffee shops open most days. The Three Bean Cafe has great provisions for picnic lunches. The Lolly Bug on the Great Western Highway also serves coffee, snacks and all those tempting childhood sweets that are hard to resist!
